we got the word that Clint and Neil from The Shop were traveling from Topeka to get some science kicked to 'em from the Jax crew. the invite came to us to join in and throw down, and with no haste we hopped to it.
that box on edgar st. is something special; the fact that two guys came from Kansas to train and learn from Chris, Meg and the rest of the people who make CF Jax is a testament to who they are and what they do. We are lucky that they're in our backyard and consider us friends and family. something NOT taken for granted.
we started the session with a C & J 1rm, getting and giving oly coaching by/to all in the box. was a great learning experience. seeing how other coaches teach, the cues and methods they use, is invaluable. as an athlete, having an educated coach critique your form is crucial--and a fresh set of eyes is always welcomed. Both MK and myself hit PR's:
TG. 245
MK. 160
RH. 255
the 1rm session was then chased, by some with vodka, by all with an AMRAP:
18 min
500m row
30x double under
1x G2OH @225 / 135
TG. rx. 5 rounds
MK. rx. 5 rounds
RH. rx. 5 rounds
a room full of better people you'd be hard to find
MK wrote a great write up on her blog, read it!
Clint and Neil, it was a pleasure meeting you. You picked the right place to seek and learn.

Love these photos. :)
